حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْعَيْزَارِ بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " عَجِبْتُ لِلمُؤْمِنِ، إِنْ أَصَابَهُ خَيْرٌ حَمِدَ اللهَ وَشَكَرَ، وَإِنِ أصَابَتْهُ مُصِيبَةٌ حَمِدَ اللهَ وَصَبَرَ، فَالْمُؤْمِنُ يُؤْجَرُ فِي كُلِّ أَمْرِهِ، حَتَّى يُؤْجَرَ فِي اللُّقْمَةِ يَرْفَعُهَا إِلَى فِي امْرَأَتِهِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated fromʻUmar bin Sa"d bin Abi Waqqas that his father said:
The Messenger of Allah said: "I am amazed at the decree of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, for the believer: if something good befalls him, he praises his Lord and gives thanks, and if calamity strikes him, he praises his Lord and bears it with patience. The believer will be rewarded for everything, even the morsel he lifts to his wife"s mouth.”
