حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْقُدُّوسِ بْنُ بَكْرِ بْنِ خُنَيْسٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ جَابِرٌ عَمَّا يُدْعَى لِلْمَيِّتِ؟ فَقَالَ: " مَا أَبَاحَ لَنَا فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَلَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، وَلَا عُمَرُ " (٣)، ،

Translation

English translation

Someone asked Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) what supplication should be made for the deceased. He replied that neither the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) nor the two Shaykhs made anything permissible (specified) for us in this regard.
