حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ عُتْبَةَ، وَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ: أَخْبَرَنَا عُتْبَةُ بْنُ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ، حَدَّثَنِي حُصَيْنُ بْنُ حَرْمَلَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُصَبِّحٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ وَالنَّيْلُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَأَهْلُهَا مُعَانُونَ عَلَيْهَا، فَامْسَحُوا بِنَوَاصِيهَا، وَادْعُوا لَهَا بِالْبَرَكَةِ، وَقَلِّدُوهَا، وَلَا تُقَلِّدُوهَا بِالْأَوْتَارِ "، وَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ: وَلَا تُقَلِّدُوهَا الْأَوْتَارَ (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Goodness and blessing have been placed in the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection, and their owners are helped through them. Therefore, stroke their foreheads, supplicate for blessing for them, and place necklaces on their necks, but do not hang ropes on them.
