حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ وَرَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فِي حَائِطٍ، وَهُوَ يُحَوِّلُ الْمَاءَ، فَقَالَ: " عِنْدَكَ مَاءٌ بَاتَ اللَّيْلَةَ فِي شَنٍّ؟ وَإِلَّا كَرَعْنَا؟ " فَقَالَ: عِنْدِي مَاءٌ بَائِتٌ، فَانْطَلَقَ إِلَى عَرِيشٍ، فَحَلَبَ لَهُ شَاةً، ثُمَّ صَبَّ عَلَيْهِ مَاءً بَائِتًا، ثُمَّ سَقَاهُ، وَصَنَعَ بِصَاحِبِهِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) went with his companion to the house of an Ansari and said: If you have water left over from the night in this vessel, (give it to us), otherwise we will drink directly (from the source). At that time, the man was watering his garden. He said to the Prophet (ﷺ): I have water left over from the night, and he took both of them towards his tent. Upon reaching there, he poured water into a bowl and milked a goat over it, which the Prophet (ﷺ) drank. After the Prophet (ﷺ), he did the same for the companion who had come with him.
