حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ أَحْمَدُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَبِي قُحَافَةَ - أَوْ جَاءَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ - وَرَأْسُهُ وَلِحْيَتُهُ مِثْلُ الثَّغَامِ - أَوْ مِثْلُ الثَّغَامَةِ - قَالَ حَسَنٌ: فَأَمَرَ بِهِ إِلَى نِسَائِهِ، قَالَ: " غَيِّرُوا هَذَا الشَّيْبَ " قَالَ حَسَنٌ: قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ: أَقَالَ: جَنِّبُوهُ السَّوَادَ؟ قَالَ: " لَا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the conquest of Makkah, Abu Quhafa was brought to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ). At that time, the hair on his head was as white as the plant Thaghamah. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Take him to some woman of his family and change the color of his hair."
