حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: " كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الظُّهْرِ، فَآخُذُ بِيَدِي قَبْضَةً مِنْ حَصًى، فَأَجْعَلُهَا فِي يَدِي الْأُخْرَى حَتَّى تَبْرُدَ، ثُمَّ أَسْجُدَ عَلَيْهَا مِنْ شِدَّةِ الْحَرِّ "، (١)، ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: " وَكَانَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي، (١) عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، (٢) فَضَرَبَ أَبِي عَلَيْهِ لِأَنَّهُ خَطَأٌ، وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَخْطَأَ ابْنُ بِشْرٍ "،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that we used to perform the Zuhr prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so I would pick up a handful of pebbles in one hand and place them in the other hand, and when they became somewhat cool, I would put them on the ground and prostrate on them because of the intense heat.
