حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أبَو الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ: أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِضَبٍّ، فَأَبَى أَنْ يَأْكُلَهُ، وَقَالَ: " إِنِّي لَا أَدْرِي لَعَلَّهُ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ الْأُولَى (١) الَّتِي مُسِخَتْ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a monitor lizard was brought to the Noble Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) refused to eat it and said: I do not know, it may be from among those towns and times that were transformed.
