Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once bread and meat were presented before the Prophet (ﷺ). Then the Prophet (ﷺ) asked for water for ablution, performed ablution, and offered the Zuhr prayer. Then the remaining food was brought and he ate it, and then stood for prayer without performing ablution again. Similarly, once I went to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and on his dining mat there was a bowl in which there was bread and meat, and another bowl was placed there in which there was also bread and meat. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) ate from it, and stood for prayer without performing a new ablution.
