حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ: سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، يَقُولُ: " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الشِّغَارِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade exchange marriages (watte satta) in which no dowry (mahr) is specified, but rather the exchange itself is considered the obligatory dowry.
