Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that we were on a journey with the Prophet (ﷺ). On our return, when we were about to enter the city, he said: "Wait! We will enter the city at night," that is, after Maghrib. The Prophet (ﷺ) told them that when you enter the city at night, do so without prior notice, so that a woman whose husband was absent may remove unwanted hair from her body, and a disheveled woman may adorn herself.
