Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) with a request for help regarding my father's debt. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "I will come to you." I went back and said to my wife that you should neither speak to the Prophet (ﷺ) about this matter nor ask him anything. Accordingly, the Prophet (ﷺ) came to us, and we slaughtered one of our goats. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Jabir! It seems that you have realized our fondness for meat." When the Prophet (ﷺ) was about to leave, my wife said: O Messenger of Allah! Pray for me and my husband. The Prophet (ﷺ) prayed. I said to my wife: Did I not forbid you? She said: Look, the Prophet (ﷺ) comes to our home and you do not want him to pray for us.
