حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَصْحَابِ الشَّجَرَةِ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ: " لَوْ كُنَّا مِائَةَ أَلْفٍ لَكَفَانَا، كُنَّا أَلْفًا وَخَمْسَ مِائَةٍ " (١)، ،

Translation

English translation

Salim bin Abi Al-Ja'd says that I asked Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about the number of participants in the Bay'at al-Ridwan, so he replied: "Even if we had been one hundred thousand in number, that water would have sufficed us. Our number was only one and a half thousand."
