حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، يَقُولُ: " دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا نَخْلًا لِبَنِي النَّجَّارِ، فَسَمِعَ أَصْوَاتَ رِجَالٍ مِنْ بَنِي النَّجَّارِ مَاتُوا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يُعَذَّبُونَ فِي قُبُورِهِمْ، فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَزِعًا، فَأَمَرَ أَصْحَابَهُ أَنْ يَتَعَوَّذُوا (١) مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) entered a garden of Banu Najjar. There, he heard the voices of some people who had died during the time of ignorance and were being punished in their graves. The Prophet (ﷺ) became anxious and left from there, and he instructed the companions to seek refuge from the punishment of the grave.
