حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ: سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُ خَطَبَ يَوْمًا، فَذَكَرَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ قُبِضَ، فَكُفِّنَ فِي كَفَنٍ غَيْرِ طَائِلٍ، وَقُبِرَ لَيْلًا، فَزَجَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنْ يُقْبَرَ الرَّجُلُ بِاللَّيْلِ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ، إِلَّا أَنْ يُضْطَرَّ إِنْسَانٌ إِلَى ذَلِكَ، وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا كَفَّنَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ فَلْيُحْسِنْ كَفَنَهُ "، (١)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering a sermon and mentioned one of his companions who had passed away and was shrouded in an unnecessary shroud and buried at night. The Prophet (ﷺ) strictly forbade burial at night unless the funeral prayer had been offered, except in cases of extreme necessity. He said that when any of you shrouds his brother, he should shroud him well.
