حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَقَدْ دَعَاهُ خَيَّاطٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ، فَإِذَا خُبْزُ شَعِيرٍ وَإِهَالَةٌ سَنِخَةٌ، قَالَ: فَإِذَا فِيهَا قَرْعٌ، قَالَ: " وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: يُعْجِبُهُ الْقَرْعُ "، قَالَ: فَجَعَلْتُ أُقَرِّبُهُ (٢) قُدَّامَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ: " لَمْ أَزَلْ يُعْجِبُنِي الْقَرْعُ مُنْذُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْجِبُهُ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a tailor invited the Prophet (ﷺ) to a meal. When he brought the food, it contained old oil and pumpkin. I saw that the Prophet (ﷺ) was searching for pumpkin in the bowl. From that time, I also began to like pumpkin.
