حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ، قَالَ: ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَا، وَحُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، (١) قَالَ: فَسَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا، قَالَ: كُنَّا إِذَا بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يُلَقِّنُنَا هُوَ: " فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُم (٢) " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when we used to pledge allegiance to the Prophet (ﷺ), the Prophet (ﷺ) would include the condition "according to ability" in it.
