حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا، يَقُولُ: " إِنْ كَانَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ لَيُؤَذِّنُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَنُرَى أَنَّهَا الْإِقَامَةُ مِنْ كَثْرَةِ مَنْ يَقُومُ فَيُصَلِّي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the blessed era of the Prophet (ﷺ), when the muezzin would finish giving the adhan, it would seem as if he had given the iqamah, because the number of people offering two rak'ahs before Maghrib would become so great (that the adhan would hardly be noticed).
