حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، " كَانَ لَا يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنَ الدُّعَاءِ إِلَّا عِنْدَ الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ، حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ إِبْطَيْهِ " (٣)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) would not raise his hands in any supplication, except at the time of Istisqa (prayer for rain), when he (ﷺ) would raise his hands so high that the whiteness of his blessed armpits would become visible.
