حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ قَتَادَةُ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا عَدْوَى، وَلَا طِيَرَةَ، وَيُعْجِبُنِي الْفَأْلُ " قُلْتُ: وَمَا الْفَأْلُ؟ قَالَ: "، ، الْكَلِمَةُ الطَّيِّبَةُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: There is no reality in contagiousness of disease and evil omens, but I like optimism. I asked, "What is meant by optimism?" He replied, "A good word."
