Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا، يَقُولُ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَدْعُوَ: " اللهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً، وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً، وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ "، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِقَتَادَةَ، فَقَالَ: كَانَ أَنَسٌ يَقُولُ هَذَا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to frequently supplicate: O Allah! Grant us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of Hell.
