Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: " صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَخَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرَ، وَعُثْمَانَ، فَكَانُوا لَا يَجْهَرُونَ بِ {بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ} [الفاتحة: ١] " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have prayed with the Prophet (ﷺ) and with the three Caliphs, and I did not hear any one of them recite "Bismillah" aloud.
