Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، يَقُولُ: " تَزَوَّجَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَجَازَ ذَلِكَ " (١) ، قَالَ: وَكَانَ الْحَكَمُ يَأْخُذُ بِهَذَا،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Abdur Rahman bin Auf (may Allah be pleased with him) married an Ansari woman for a gold piece equal to a date stone, (the Prophet ﷺ declared it permissible).
