حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ، أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَتَى تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ؟ وَعِنْدَهُ غُلَامٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يُقَالُ لَهُ: مُحَمَّدٌ، فَقَالَ: " إِنْ يَعِشْ هَذَا، فَعَسَى أَنْ لَا يُدْرِكَهُ الْهَرَمُ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man submitted in the court of the Prophet, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! When will the Hour (Day of Judgment) come?" At that time, there was an Ansari boy named Muhammad present with the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If this boy lives, it is possible that the Hour will come before he reaches old age."
