حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عِيسَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: عَادَ (٢) النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غُلَامًا كَانَ يَخْدُمُهُ يَهُودِيًّا، قَالَ: فَقَالَ لَهُ: " قُلْ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ "، قَالَ: فَجَعَلَ يُنْظَرُ إِلَى أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ لَهُ: قُلْ: مَا يَقُولُ لَكَ، قَالَ: فَقَالَهَا: (٣) فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ: " صَلُّوا عَلَى أَخِيكُمْ "، وَقَالَ غَيْرُ أَسْوَدَ: " أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللهِ "،، ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ لَهُ: قُلْ: مَا يَقُولُ لَكَ مُحَمَّدٌ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Jewish boy used to serve the Prophet (ﷺ). Once, he fell ill. The Prophet (ﷺ) went to visit him, and his father was sitting by his head. The Prophet (ﷺ) advised him to recite the Kalimah. The boy looked at his father, who said, "Obey Abul Qasim (ﷺ)." So the boy recited the Kalimah. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Offer the funeral prayer for your brother."
