حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، وَحُسَيْنٌ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، قَالَ حُسَيْنٌ: عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، وَقَالَ أَسْوَدُ، حَدَّثَنَا السُّدِّيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبَّادٍ أَبِي هُبَيْرَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ فِي حِجْرِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ يَتَامَى، فَابْتَاعَ لَهُمْ خَمْرًا، فَلَمَّا حُرِّمَتِ الْخَمْرُ، أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ:، ، أَصْنَعُهُ خَلًّا؟ قَالَ: " لَا "، قَالَ: فَأَهْرَاقَهُ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that some orphans were under the guardianship of Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him). He bought and kept some wine with their money. When wine was declared forbidden, he asked the Prophet (ﷺ) whether, if the orphans had wine, they could turn it into vinegar. He replied, "No." So they poured it away.
