حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ بِنْتُ سِيرِينَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ لِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ: بِمَ مَاتَ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ؟ فَقُلْتُ: بِالطَّاعُونِ، فَقَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الطَّاعُونُ شَهَادَةٌ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that I asked Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) how Ibn Abi Umrah passed away? He replied that it was due to the disease of plague. He said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Plague is martyrdom for every Muslim.
