حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي النَّضْرُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، وَأَنَسٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ حَيٌّ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ: (٣) لَوْلَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا يَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ " لَتَمَنَّيْتُهُ (٤)، ،

Translation

English translation

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him)'s son, Nazar, says that if the Prophet (ﷺ) had not said that none of you should wish for death, I would certainly have wished for death. At that time, Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) was also alive.
