Musnad Ahmad Hadith 13655

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) once said to the Ansar: "O group of Ansar! Is it not so that when I came to you, you were astray, and Allah granted you guidance through me? Is it not so that when I came to you, you were divided among yourselves, and Allah united you through me? Is it not so that when I came to you, you were enemies of one another, and Allah created affection in your hearts through me?" They replied, "Indeed, O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)!" The Prophet (ﷺ) then said, "Do you not also say that you received me when I came to you in a state of fear, and you gave me security; my people expelled me, and you gave me shelter; I was helpless, and you helped me?" They replied, "No, rather Allah and His Messenger have favored us."
