Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the king of Rome sent to the Prophet (ﷺ) a silk cloak "in which there was gold embroidery." The Prophet (ﷺ) wore it, and because it was long, it was trailing from the Prophet’s (ﷺ) hands. People began to say, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Has this been sent down to you from the heavens?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Are you amazed at this? By the One in Whose hand is my soul, in Paradise, the handkerchiefs of Sa’d bin Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him) are far better than this." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) sent that cloak to Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him). He wore it, and the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I did not give it to you to wear." He asked, "Then what should I do with it?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Send it to your brother Najashi."
