حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: " مَا كَانَ شَخْصٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِمْ رُؤْيَةً مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَكَانُوا إِذَا رَأَوْهُ لَمْ يَقُومُوا، لِمَا يَعْلَمُونَ مِنْ كَرَاهِيَتِهِ لِذَلِكَ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the eyes of the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them), there was no one more beloved than the Prophet (ﷺ), but they would not stand up upon seeing the Prophet (ﷺ) because they knew that the Prophet (ﷺ) did not consider it good.
