Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ، إِذْ سَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَقُولُ: اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ "، فقَالَ: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " خَرَجَ هَذَا مِنَ النَّارِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were on a journey with the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) listened attentively and heard a man saying "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He is upon sound nature (fitrah)." Then when he said, "Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah," the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You have been saved from the fire of Hell."
