Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I was running with the children, and when the children would say, "Muhammad (peace be upon him) has come," I would run so fast that I could see nothing. When the children would say the same words again, I would again start running so fast that I could see nothing, until the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his honorable companion Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived. At that time, we were in some area of Madinah. We sent a villager to the Ansar with this news, and about five hundred Ansari companions (may Allah be pleased with them) set out to welcome the Prophet (peace be upon him). When those people reached the Prophet (peace be upon him) and Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him), they said, "Both of you enter as obeyed leaders with peace and security." The Prophet (peace be upon him) and Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) kept walking ahead of them, and all the people of Madinah came out, even the women climbed onto the roofs of their houses to see the Prophet (peace be upon him) and began asking each other, "Which one is the Prophet (peace be upon him)?" We had never seen a scene like that day. I also saw the day when the Prophet (peace be upon him) entered Madinah Munawwarah, and I saw the day when he (peace be upon him) departed from this world. I have never seen a scene like those two days.
