حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ: " مَا أَعْرِفُ شَيْئًا مِمَّا عَهِدْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْيَوْمَ ". فَقَالَ أَبُو رَافِعٍ: يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ وَلَا الصَّلَاةَ؟ فَقَالَ: " أَوَلَيْسَ قَدْ عَلِمْتُمْ (٢) مَا صَنَعَ الْحَجَّاجُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say that I witnessed the blessed era of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and today I do not see anything of it remaining. Abu Rafi' asked, "O Abu Hamzah! Not even the prayer?" He replied, "Do you not know what Hajjaj has done to the prayer?"
