Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: " كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُتَقَارِبَةً، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ حَتَّى كَانَ عُمَرُ فَمَدَّ فِي صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that all the prayers of the Prophet (ﷺ) were nearly equal in length, and likewise the prayers of Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him). However, Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) began to lengthen the Fajr prayer.
