Musnad Ahmad Hadith 13033

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, "O Anas! I intend to fast, give me something to eat." I brought some dates and a vessel of water. By that time, Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) had already given the call to prayer. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Anas! Find someone who can join me in eating." So I went and brought Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him). He said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! I have drunk a drink of sattu and I intend to fast." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I also intend to fast." Then both of them ate suhoor together. After that, the Prophet (ﷺ) prayed two rak'ahs and went out, and the prayer had been established.
