حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، وَحَدَّثَنِي بَهْزٌ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، وَقَالَ عَفَّانُ: عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " يَهْرَمُ ابْنُ آدَمَ وَيَشِبُّ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَانِ: الْحِرْصُ عَلَى الْمَالِ، وَالْحِرْصُ عَلَى الْعُمُرِ " (٤)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: A person grows old, but two things remain young in him: the desire for wealth and the hope for a long life.
