حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا رَجَعْنَا مِنْ غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ بِالْمَدِينَةِ أَقْوَامًا مَا قَطَعْتُمْ وَادِيًا، وَلَا سِرْتُمْ مَسِيرًا، إِلَّا شَرَكُوكُمْ فِيهِ " قَالُوا: وَهُمْ بِالْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ: " حَبَسَهُمْ الْعُذْرُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (ﷺ) was returning from the Battle of Tabuk and approached near Madinah Munawwarah, he said: "There are some people in Madinah Munawwarah that whichever path you traveled and whichever valley you crossed, they were with you in that." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Even though they were in Madinah, were they with us?" He replied, "Yes! Even though they were in Madinah, because some excuse had kept them back."
