حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي قَتَادَةُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسًا قَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا عَدْوَى وَلَا طِيَرَةَ " قَالَ: " وَيُعْجِبُنِي الْفَأْلُ " فَقُلْتُ: مَا الْفَأْلُ؟ قَالَ: " الْكَلِمَةُ الطَّيِّبَةُ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: There is no reality in contagiousness of disease and evil omens, however, I like optimism, that is, a good and pure word. I asked, "What is meant by optimism?" He replied, "A good word."
