حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَتَّابًا، مَوْلَى ابْنِ هُرْمُزَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ: " بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِي هَذِهِ - يَعْنِي الْيُمْنَى - عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ، فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I pledged allegiance to the Prophet (ﷺ) with this right hand of mine on the condition of listening and obeying, and the Prophet (ﷺ) added the restriction of "as much as you are able."
