Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا عَدْوَى، وَلَا طِيَرَةَ، وَيُعْجِبُنِي الْفَأْلُ " قَالُوا: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، مَا الْفَأْلُ؟ قَالَ: " الْكَلِمَةُ الْحَسَنَةُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: There is no reality in bad omens, however, I like optimism, that is, a good and pure word.
