Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) was going to the gardens of Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) to relieve himself. Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was walking behind the Prophet (ﷺ), and he considered it disrespectful to walk beside the Prophet (ﷺ). While walking, the Prophet (ﷺ) passed by a grave and stood there until Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) also arrived. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Bilal! Do you also hear the sound that I am hearing?" He replied, "I do not hear any sound." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The one in this grave is being punished." Upon inquiry, it was found out that he was a Jew.
