Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ:، أَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " لَيَسِيرَنَّ الرَّاكِبُ فِي جَنَبَاتِ الْمَدِينَةِ، ثُمَّ لَيَقُولُ: لَقَدْ كَانَ فِي هَذَا حَاضِرٌ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ كَثِيرٌ " (٢) .، قَالَ أَبِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ: وَلَمْ يَجُزْ بِهِ حَسَنٌ الْأَشْيَبُ جَابِرًا (٣) .، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Jabir said:
Umar bin al-Khattab رضي الله عنه told me: he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ `A rider will travel through the streets of Madinah, then he will say: There used to be many believers here.`
