حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، وَعَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخَذَ سَيْفًا يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَقَالَ: " مَنْ يَأْخُذُ هَذَا السَّيْفَ؟ " فَأَخَذَهُ قَوْمٌ فَجَعَلُوا يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: " مَنْ يَأْخُذُهُ بِحَقِّهِ؟ " فَأَحْجَمَ الْقَوْمُ، فَقَالَ أَبُو دُجَانَةَ سِمَاكٌ: أَنَا آخُذُهُ بِحَقِّهِ، فَأَخَذَهُ فَفَلَقَ هَامَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the Battle of Uhud, the Prophet (ﷺ) held a sword and said, "Who will take this sword?" Some people came forward to take it and look at it. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Who will take it to fulfill its right?" Upon hearing this, the people stepped back. Abu Dujana (may Allah be pleased with him), whose name was Simak, said, "I will take it to fulfill its right." So he took it and began to strike the heads of the polytheists.
