حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ الْمَعْنَى، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ امْرَأَةٍ تَرَى فِي مَنَامِهَا مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ رَأَتْ ذَلِكَ مِنْكُنَّ فَأَنْزَلَتْ فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ ". قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ: أَوَ يَكُونُ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ مَاءُ الرَّجُلِ غَلِيظٌ أَبْيَضُ، وَمَاءُ الْمَرْأَةِ أَصْفَرُ رَقِيقٌ، فَأَيُّهُمَا سَبَقَ أَوْ عَلَا أَشْبَهَهُ الْوَلَدُ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Prophet (ﷺ) that if a woman also sees a "dream" like a man sees, then what is the ruling? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If a woman sees such a "dream" and experiences discharge, then she should perform ghusl (ritual bath). Umm al-Mu'mineen Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Can this also happen?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Yes! The fluid of a man is thick and white, and the fluid of a woman is thin. Whichever of the two prevails, the child resembles that one.
