حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: جَاءَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ يُضْحِكُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، مِنْ أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ مَعَهَا خِنْجَرٌ، فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَا تَصْنَعِينَ بِهِ يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ؟ " قَالَتْ: أَرَدْتُ إِنْ دَنَا مِنِّي أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ طَعَنْتُهُ بِهِ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the Battle of Hunain, Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) came to make the Prophet (ﷺ) laugh and said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Look at Umm Sulaim, she has a dagger with her." The Prophet (ﷺ) asked her, "O Umm Sulaim! What will you do with it?" She replied, "If any polytheist comes near me, I will rip open his belly with it."
