حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: " كَانَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ لا يُكْثِرُ (٣) الصَّوْمَ عَلَى عَهْدِ، ، رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَلَمَّا مَاتَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ لَا يُفْطِرُ إِلَّا فِي سَفَرٍ، أَوْ مَرَضٍ " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) did not keep many voluntary fasts during the blessed lifetime of the Prophet (ﷺ), but after the Prophet’s (ﷺ) passing, he would not leave fasting in any circumstance except for travel or illness.
