Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: اصْطَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا. فَقَالَ: " إِنَّا قَدِ اصْطَنَعْنَا خَاتَمًا، وَنَقَشْنَا فِيهِ نَقْشًا، فَلَا يَنْقُشُ أَحَدٌ عَلَيْهِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) had a ring made for himself and said: We have had a ring made and have engraved an inscription (Muhammad Rasul Allah) on it, therefore no one should engrave this inscription on his ring.
