حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْفَرَّاءُ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: " كُنَّا نُخْرِجُ صَدَقَةَ الْفِطْرِ إِذْ كَانَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ زَبِيبٍ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ، فَلَمْ نَزَلْ كَذَلِكَ حَتَّى قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ " (٢)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the blessed era of the Prophet (ﷺ), we used to give one sa’ of dates or barley, or cheese, or raisins as Sadaqat al-Fitr. Then, during the time of Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), wheat became available, and his opinion was that its one mudd is equal to two (of the others).
