حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، عَنْ نَهَارٍ الْعَبْدِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِنَّ اللهَ لَيَسْأَلُ الْعَبْدَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، حَتَّى إِنَّهُ لَيَسْأَلُهُ يَقُولُ: أَيْ عَبْدِي، رَأَيْتَ مُنْكَرًا فَلَمْ تُنْكِرْهُ، فَإِذَا لَقَّنَ اللهُ عَبْدًا حُجَّتَهُ قَالَ: يَا رَبِّ وَثِقْتُ بِكَ، وَخِفْتُ النَّاسَ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: On the Day of Resurrection, you will be questioned about everything, even to the extent that you will be asked: When you saw a sinful act being committed, why did you not prevent it? Then, the one to whom Allah grants understanding will say: O Lord! I hoped for Your forgiveness, but I feared the people.
