وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ تَوَاضَعَ لِلَّهِ دَرَجَةً رَفَعَهُ اللهُ دَرَجَةً، حَتَّى يَجْعَلَهُ فِي عِلِّيِّينَ، وَمَنْ تَكَبَّرَ عَلَى اللهِ دَرَجَةً، وَضَعَهُ (٢) اللهُ دَرَجَةً، حَتَّى يَجْعَلَهُ فِي أَسْفَلِ السَّافِلِينَ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
And it is narrated with the previous chain that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Whoever adopts one degree of humility for the sake of Allah, Allah raises him one degree, until He makes him reach "Illiyyin." And whoever shows one degree of arrogance before Allah, Allah lowers him one degree, until He makes him reach the lowest of the low.
